POW/MIA

All those who fought and served their country when they received the call, were men and women of courage, judgment, integrity and dedication. Where does dedication end? You can never put an end to dedication. After all, those who remain Prisoners of War or are still Missing in Action are still serving with never ending dedication. For them, it can never be over. For us, we can never let their sacrifices, or them, be forgotten.

The Missing Man Table

The table, set for one, is small, symbolizing the frailty of one isolated prisoner.
The table is round, to show our everlasting concern for our missing.
The tablecloth is white, symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to serve.
The single red rose; displayed in a vase, signifies the blood that many have shed in sacrifice to ensure the freedom of our beloved country.  This rose also reminds us of the family and friends of our missing comrade who keep the faith while awaiting their return.
The red ribbon symbolizes the love of our country, which inspired them to answer the nation's call.
A slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate.
A pinch of salt symbolizes the countless fallen tears of their families as they wait.
The glass is inverted, symbolizing their inability to partake.
The lighted candle reflects our hope for their return, alive or dead.
The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain us and those lost from our country.
The chair is empty, the missing and fallen aren't present.
