Commander's Corner

Commander Duane Painter

Welcome to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4850.

As the Commander of VFW Post 4850, it is my honor to welcome all our members, veterans, their families and community supporters in Jasper and Walker County.  Our mission is to foster comradeship among United States veterans of overseas conflicts, to assist worthy comrades, to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, to assist their surviving spouses and orphans, to foster true patriotism, and to serve our community and advocate on behalf of all veterans.

We strive to create a welcoming environment where veterans can share their experiences and support one another.  Through regular meetings, social events and community activities, we build lasting bonds and a sense of belonging.

As Post 4850 moves forward, we have several areas of emphasis:   We will strive to reach more veterans in our community, especially those who may not be aware of the resources and support available to them.  We will increase our involvement in community activities, fostering a stronger bond between veterans and the local community.  We encourage all members to take an active role in post activities and leadership.

To conclude, I want to thank each of you for your service and your continued dedication to the mission of the VFW.  Together, we can make a difference in the lives of veterans and their families, and in our community.

Stay connected with us through our website, Facebook page and by attending our meetings and events.  Your participation and support are crucial to our success.
